Progress Update - 14 months of hacking my body
I’ve been trucking along, trying new things, and learning a lot along the way.
More recently I’ve realized:
- You don’t need to eat 6 times a day to “keep your metabolism from slowing down.” [1]
- You don’t need to exercise 7 days a week to achieve your goals. [1], [2]
- Low carb diets are not a means to an end. Carbs don’t make you get fat. Eating too much makes you fat.
- Extreme caloric restriction is not fun or sustainable. Be reasonable.
- Don’t stress over small details. Be consistent and everything will fall into place.
I’m really happy with how far I’ve come and looking back motivates me to keep going.

Ok, so one of the things I have been doing is a 28 Day Boot Camp Workout at Spark! I’m currently on Day 6 and going strong. Already got my required workouts in. There is a 10 minute Toning Workout to do each day and you are supposed to do a 30 minute Cardio Workout of your choice as well. I do 30 minutes on the Treadmill. In keeping with my wanting to do a ‘Booty Call” with the Tone it Up Girls , I did moderate walking on the treadmill this morning. I don’t have a ton of energy in the morning(hopefully eventually that will change and I’ll be one of those people who ‘leap’ out of bed each morning, but so far NOT) so I’m trying to take it a little easy. I just want to get my metabolism going a little bit to give me a slight edge thru-out the day. I still plan to do another 30 minute session on the treadmill later this afternoon(when I tend to have bundles of energy) and go a little harder!

Ok..so I did Day Two of the Jamie Eason workout plan..but now realize I just wont be able to continue as most of the excercises are for weight machines and I don’t have, nor do I want at this time, a gym membership. I want to workout at home. So I think I’m going to try doing some of the Beachbody workouts instead. I bought Slim in 6 ages ago and can do that for now, but I think I’ll look into trying some of the others. I’ve even seen some of the workouts posted online for free, so maybe I can try them out before buying the whole plan.
